About Framing Plus
We’re pretty lucky to be working in a thriving arts community here in Otago, NZ. With so many art societies and all round creative types living here, we’re amazed at what comes through our doors to be framed.
Our workshop and gallery at 78 Union Street, Milton, has been the home of Framing Plus for a number of years, after starting out life in a garage over 20 years ago.
We love to exhibit local artists. From the beautiful Central Otago landscapes by Graham Brinsley, to Kaori Jackson’s bright and playful wildlife paintings, we have a wide variety of original works and signed reproductions in our gallery.
We are open: Mon – Fri: 9am-5pm Sat: 10am-2pm
About some of our artists
Graham Brinsley was born in 1963 and raised both in Dunedin and Invercargill.
The southern scenery was an endless inspiration for his painting from an early age. After schooling at Southland Boys High, he began a BA at Otago University, painting in the evenings and holidays. By the third year art won over the studies, and he has painted full time ever since. Most years he paints around Europe, more recently exhibiting in Ireland.
Kaori Jackson is a self taught artist greatly influenced by her grandparents since she was a child. Her grandfather was a master of Japanese embroidery and her grandmother a teacher and designer of kimono.
“I like to paint in a modern style while adhering to the principals of the traditional. I also have a deep interest in wildlife, especially birds. In my work, I try to give an impression of colourfulness as well as uniqueness and originality.”
